Hello MSJ Class of `84!

Plans for our 20th reunion have been set for Saturday, October 23rd at the historic Hotel De Anza in San Jose.  George Orwell had big ideas about 1984 in his classic novel, but more importantly, Van Halen named an album after our year and Oingo Boingo had a tune, so we need to do it up right on this 20th anniversary!  A lot of the details are in place, but we've been getting great suggestions on how to add that...special...80's flair to the evening, so please keep the ideas coming!  It's going to be fun, and you should be there - and so should the person who sat in front of you in 1st period, so please help us track down wayward classmates by sending us their email address and/or phone number or by just sharing this note with them.  Be sure to get your payment in early for the reduced price, too - the cost goes up after July 1st...see below for details.  

RSVP Completion & Cost:
Reservations for the Reunion are completed by making checks out to 'MSJ Class of 84 Reunion' and mailing them to P.O. Box 2635, Santa Barbara, CA 93120. Reservations may also be made electronically with your credit card through Paypal.com by sending payment to msj1984reunion@yahoo.com.  Upon receipt, we will contact you with confirmation.  Due to multiple deposits the Reunion Committee has laid out knowing you're all coming and they'll get their money back, we are designing ticket prices to provide incentive to pay earlier rather than later.  Below you'll find the ticket prices which increase as the date nears the reunion.

The historic Hotel De Anza, an elegant four star hotel, opened its doors during the heart of the Depression, on February 26, 1931.  The hotel brought a fashionable decor to San Jose and maintains its classy, retro feel. Eleanor Roosevelt, The DuPonts, Jack Dempsey, Paulett Goddard and Yakov Smirnoff are just some of the legendary guests to visit the De Anza.

We have blocked a set of hotel rooms for our event that will be available on a first come, first serve basis.  Call the Hotel De Anza directly at 800.843.3700 and mention our reunion to reserve your room for the special rate of $119 per night (suites are $250 per night) with breakfast included.  The De Anza is just minutes from the San Jose airport, it's located in the heart of downtown San Jose and within walking distance to restaurants, attractions, the San Jose Convention Center and HP Pavilion.

Ambiance:
Our goal is to throw a very sociable and fun soiree so we can all catch up with one another.  Catering will be handled by La Pastaia, the Hotel De Anza's acclaimed restaurant, featuring exceptional Italian cuisine.  You'll be greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne upon entry and hauntingly familiar eighties tunes.
